This traditional Tieguanyin (Iron Goddess of Mercy) is from a farm that has been MOA certified organic for over 10 years. A very rare gem in the Muzha, New Taipei City tea area which is famous for Tieguanyin. Tie Guan Yin is a very famous chinese oolong tea. Its a real shame that the Anxi area where it is originally from has suffered from overuse of chemical fertilizer and pesticides and its tea is no longer what it once was. Besides, the TGY they produce today is often the low oxidation style made to please the modern trend and not the traditional roast that made it famous. We can say this TGY is traditional because it is in fact made from true Tieguanyin cultivar wulong bushes brought to Taiwan many years ago, and then medium roasted in a lengthy laborious process. You need this long process to really produce the traditional Tieguanyin flavor, and you need the true Tieguanyin varietal leaves. A true gem to discover throughout many infusions! + Info http://cajchai.com/blog
