Vietnamese Beauty, originally called Oriental Beauty (Dong Fang Mei Ren), while also known as White Tip Wulong (Bai Hao Wulong), is a special heavily oxidized oolong that requires having been bitten by a particular insect!
This organic Oriental Beauty is harvested during summer from young leaves and tips just bitten by a small cricket or tea jassid Cicadellidae: Jacobiasca formosana (Paoli). Leaves undergo a chemical reaction as defense against the bites and this contributes to the sweet honey notes characteristic of this tea. This particular batch is an exclusive Vietnamese Jin Xuan version of the famous Taiwanese tea and is a clear example of “White Tip Wulong” as it is full of fuzzy, silver buds!
Despite being from Vietnam you'll still find the typical Oriental Beauty aroma full of flowers, fruits and precious wood. The flavor is sweet, honey, noble and soft with a very long-lasting bouquet! Don't miss this one!
