Very aromatic, delicious and gently roasted oolong made with the Qi Lan varietal, which translates as "Rare Orchid". This is a Pinzhong varietal which originally comes from Pinghe County in Southern Fujian but has been an increasingly popular varietal planted in the famous Wuyi Mountains where oolong tea was first processed and created. Here in the Wuyi Mountains it gains much from the rocky, mineral terroir that lends it much depth and character, especially when lightly charcoal roasted as is the case here. It is such a rare delicacy! You'll find aromatic notes of orchids, toasted pecans and baked apples. In mouth you'll find it to be very, very smooth with notes of cinnamon, wood, minerals and with a light and fresh, almost minty, aftertaste. Very limited quantity.
