This 2011 Bingdao shou puerh was hydraulic-pressed in "zhuang" or brick shape. It was made with excellent quality tea leaves harvested at Bingdao (Ice Island) and then fermented and pressed at Yongfeng Tea Factory in Shuangjiang, Lincang. Lincang is one of the 3 major or important areas for puerh tea along with Xishuangbanna and Simao. The bricks were aged in a a nice humid environment for 10 years! The result is a smooth, thick, sweet tea that soothes the throat and warms the belly. This brick underwent a hard hydraulic compression, so the first steepings will be lighter until the tea starts opening up. This also means you should be extra careful when prying away at it!
