This top-notch Red Jade was made by Mr. Lin, one of our favorite tea producers! Not only is he a master tea producer but, more importantly, he practices organic farming with a comprehensive environmental-conscious approach and dedication. It’s a beautiful, big-leaf tea with some small silver tips. It has a very sweet taste and a unique, highly characteristic aroma, reminiscent of wintergreen and spices. • Wild Purple Bud Hong Cha

    ,

We couldn’t resist this fantastic Wild Purple Bud Hong Cha from Dehong! You’ve probably noticed we at Čaj Chai are big fans of the natural wild-occurring purple bud varietal that can be found in Yunnan, China and parts Vietnam. You may have tried our excellent Purple Bud Puerh, Purple Moonlight White or some of the fantastic Purple Leaf Hong Cha we’ve been offering from Dehong, Fenqing and Yongde. This tea is very different, and just as remarkable, its appearance is more reminiscent of the Purple Bud Puerh White Tea we offer but oxidized to produce a hong cha.

  • Wild Purple Leaf Red Tea

    ,

This is a lightly processed, hand-crafted Wild Purple Leaf red tea made with leaves from a wild tree purple leaf varietal that grows in Dehong, Lincang. This wild “Ye Sheng” varietal “Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze var. assamica (J. Masters) Kitam.” is a primeval varietal that pre-dates Camellia Sinensis var. Assamica and is a naturally occuring non-hybridized varietal. It is a natural bug repellent that grows wild in the forests of Yunnan at an altitude of 1600-2200 meters. Its strong cha qi arises from its unadulterated nature. It’s an incredibly rare tea, in fact only 90 kilograms are made. Read more below:
