Very special wild white tea made from Ye Sheng wild purple varietal tea that grows in the Hong Ni Tan mountains and then processed like traditional Yue Guang Bai (Moonlight White). The wild purple varietal is quite distinct. You’ll find it very complex, with notes of spices, fruit, vegetables, flowers, sugarcane, and pleasant bitter-sweetness. After processing and packaging, Moonlight White oxidizes further over time, in upcoming months the light bitterness will slowly transform into sweetness and the leaves and color of infusion tend to get darker.

These purple puerh buds can be considered both puerh tea and white tea because while the leaves come from the large leaf puerh varietal, the simple, sun-dried processing makes it actually a white tea. The buds were handpicked by the Wa tribe at over 1800 meters in the wild Yunnan forests in Ximeng, Cangyuan and Menglian on the border of China and Burma. The Wa tribe believe these wild ancient trees have a powerful spirit that has protected them in times of war, so this tea is precious to them and available only in limited supply.

These buds differ greatly from Silver Tips because they come from a different varietal of camellia tea tree that grows in Western Yunnan. The buds are picked in early spring and sun-dried. After brewing this tea one can play with buds, picking them apart gently… Marvel at the fractal layers of unopened buds that are contained in a single bud. We’ve counted 9!

Unique white tea grown in the remote and high mountains of Ai Lao in the eastern part of Jing Dong, Simao. These extremely fine leaves were picked in the spring of 2018 and were carefully processed to conserve the leaves’ small, fine hairs in a process that is something between a white and green tea, hence they are called jade needles. It has a strong thick aroma and hints of sugarcane and wheatgrass and a very grassy, herbal flavor that is long-lasting.
