Tieguanyin (Iron Goddess of Mercy) is a very famous chinese oolong tea. It’s a real shame that the Anxi area where it is originally from has suffered from overuse of chemical fertilizer and pesticides and its tea is no longer what it once was. Years ago Čaj Chai decided we weren’t going to sell any Anxi Tie Guan Yin as a sign of protest. However, this incredible tea was produced in 1993, long before the commercial boom that devastated Anxi. This tea is a true gem that handles many infusions. It is produced in the traditional manner, 40% oxidation, slow charcoal roast and has nothing to do with the commercial, floral TGY that has flooded the market over the last decade.
