Organic Silver Tips white tea of extraordinary quality from northern India! LaKyrsiew, meaning awakening in the local Khasi language, is a boutique tea garden in Meghalaya, Northern India between Assam and Darjeeling on the southern bank of Umiam Lake at 1,000-1,300 metres altitude. Its story began 200 years ago when the East India Company first scouted this region as ideal for tea planting. The misty, forest-covered Khasi Hills were found to have the perfect conditions for growing tea, yet tribal laws forbade outsiders from working their land and, consequently, the project was abandoned. In 2002 LaKyrsiew was established on virgin scrubland, cultivating organically from the start, protecting the fresh topsoil from damage and guarantee tea quality. The vibrant, downy leaves give notes of juniper, anise and liquorice root. Secondary notes are unripe mango and citrus. When infused carefully the tea gives is a zing on the palate and an uplifting sensation. The finish is long.
