Spectacular oolong tea hand harvested, processed and gently dry-roasted using high mountain 100 year old “Gui Hua Dan Cong” trees from inner Wu Dong Shan. The term “Dan Cong” translates as “single bush” because traditionally leaves are picked from just one tree and processed separately. Dan Cong tea is classified by its “xiang” (aroma), in this case “Gui Hua” (Osmanthus Flower). It’s so aromatic that at first one may wonder if it’s aromatized, but its sweet, floral and fruity notes are pure and natural, authentic tributes to its varietal “xiang” and 25% oxidation.
The brewed tea is creamy, sweet and thick with a wide range of fruity and floral notes and a long lasting osmanthus after-taste. This tea has lovely mouthfeel and handles many steepings, especially when brewed gongfu style, although it is also very enjoyable to brew as a few leaves in a bowl.
