We think this Shou Puerh is really special. First of all, it's not as heavily fermented as most Shou Puerh is nowadays. You will see this when you look at the steeped leaves and see they are very nice looking and relatively unbroken with lots of golden tips. This lighter fermentation also means that if you store this tea it will continue to mature nicely.
Also, it comes from the famous Banzhang area of the Bulang Mountains, an area that is synonymous with quality. Banzhang tea is famous for it's old trees and perfect terroir for the best Sheng Puerh. In this case this Shou Puerh was made from younger plantation tea, which is why it's actually quite affordable.
