Fresh and refreshing organic Japanese shaded kabuse green tea... a prime example of quality hand-processed Asamushi (light.steamed) tea from the first picking of the spring produced using the Kurasawa cultivar which was picked at Kirishima Mountain in the Kagoshima area of Kyushu island in the south of Japan. Kurasawa (Shizu-7111) is one of the #7000 series cultivars that were developed from Yabukita seeds at the Shizuoka research centre after World War II.
You'll find the tea to be rich in aminoacids, sweet and tender in the mouth, with a little astringency that comes out later. The fragrance is vegetal and creamy with a powerful aftertaste that is rich in umami and very persistant. Kabuse combines the sweetness of gyokuro with the vegetalness of top Sencha.
