This fantastic SFTGFOP1 organic first flush Darjeeling tea comes from Seeyok tea garden (1800m), which was first established by the British in 1869 near the Nepalese border in Darjeeling. This garden was one of the very first to be certified organic over 30 years ago and has won many prizes for their quality. This STFGFOP1 is their highest grade and the tea leaves come from mostly Chinese tea bushes that are interplanted with indigenous trees and plants such as lemongrass that feed the soil with nitrogen.
As you probably have realized, we don't list Darjeeling teas as "Black Teas or even as "Red Teas" but as "Himalaya" Teas. The reasoning is evident with first flush teas like this which undergo such a light oxidation that it really makes no sense to call them Black teas.
