Korea, like Japan is a country that primarily prides itself on its green tea. This season we're very excited to introduce two very nice Korean teas that are quite rare: a new Korean balhyocha roasted oolong and a Korean Hwangcha. This oolong tea comes from an organic certified farm on the volcanic island of Jejudo, south of the Peninsula, volcanic layers of rock naturally filter the rain water and give this tea its pure, full, fresh taste and aroma. Given the terroir, you will probably notice some similarities with Wuyi Yancha.
The leaves were semi-oxydyzed to about 60%, making it closer to hong cha than to green tea. You'll find that this tea is quite different from other oolongs, you will appreciate the mineral character of its volcanic terroir and delicious toasted notes and long aftertaste.
