Take note, this a special treat! Water Nymph, Water Sprite, Water Fairy or Narcisssus are all names for this very famous varietal which grows in Wuyi Shan and neighboring areas of Fujian as well as Taiwan. In Chinese it is called Shui Xian or Shui Hsien. It's most typical to find Water Nymph processed as Oolong tea. This special Water Nymph however was processed differently as charcoal roasted Hong Cha, which is a delight to the ears of lovers of traditionally processed oolong as we clearly have a special place in our hearts for charcoal roasted tea. You don't want to miss this one!
This delicious tea was pressed into little 6gr squares which is quite typical in Zhang Ping.
